Process Diagram depicts the flow of the budget proposal process. Step 1: If there are only on-campus expenses in the budget, use the on-campus F&A rate and submit it to the Office of Sponsored Programs (or OSP) or the college for review. If there are no campus expenses in the budget, go to the next step. Step 2: If there are only off-campus expenses in the budget, use the off-campus F&A rate and submit it to OSP or the college for review. If there are not only off-campus expenses, go to the next step. Step 3: Are the first full-year salaries less than or equal to $150,000? If so, are more than 50% of the salaries off-campus? If both conditions are true, use the off-campus F&A rate for the entire project and submit it to OSP or the college for review. Step 4. If the first full-year salaries are greater than $150,000, use both rates on the respective portions of the budget proposal and submit it to OSP or the college for review. Step 5: If the first full-year salaries are less than 50% of the salaries off-campus, use the on-campus F&A rate for the entire project and submit it to OSP or the college for review.
